Homebrewing for Beginners





This class is designed for the first-time homebrewer. With a 6-student limit, this experience will be personal and hands-on. All ingredients and equipment are provided for in-store brewing. Students are responsible for purchasing equipment and ingredients for at-home brewing. These items may be purchased at the first class.

Overview of beer-making ingredients
Overview of equipment
Sanitization
Wort (unfermented beer) production
Fermentation

Each student is responsible for brewing a batch of beer at home before Part II, following the steps learned in Part I.

Each student is responsible for bottling his/her beer at home following the steps learned in Part II.



Introduction to All Grain Brewing

This class is designed for the intermediate homebrewer who is ready to move into all grain brewing. Single-temperature infusion mash and fly sparging methods will be used.

Introduction to All Grain Brewing is offered as a private or small-group class, available free of charge with the purchase of an all-grain system.  Without purchase, charges will apply.

  • Proper grain crush
  • Fly sparging equipment (mash tun, lauter tun)
  • Doughing-in
  • Saccharification rest (single-temperature infusion)
  • Mash Ph
  • Starch conversion
  • Mash-out

This is a 5-6 hour class.
